City of York Hockey Club discuss how they use Pitchero Track and Trace and the difference it has made to members and volunteers.
The club offers league, cup and friendly matches for dozens of teams. With hundreds of players taking to the field every week, it required a smart solution to cope with the admin for Track and Trace.
Lily Rowntree, Fixture Secretary / Covid Officer, believes Pitchero’s Track & Trace feature has been vital:
‘In all honesty, I don’t think we would have been able to play hockey without it.’
‘With us being such a huge club, administration is big for us and with having to track what every player is doing, every training session, every match and anybody who steps on the pitch. The way that Pitchero set it up has meant that our Track and Trace is just a click of a button.’

‘It’s good for the people involved in the administrative side of the club as it’s easy for us but also members and parents because they know we’re doing things properly and everyone’s safe and tracked through the app.’
Meanwhile, Peter Fitton is a player and coach for City of York Hockey Club. He likes the way Track and Trace works hand-in-hand with availability and selecting teams.
If you already pick teams using Pitchero, using Track and Trace will be a simple extension of that.
‘It’s very easy to set a training session up. Everyone is in the squad so they can set if they’re available or not. It takes two seconds per player and it takes two seconds for the captain to flick through and see who’s here.'
'If you’re using something that’s difficult and taking a lot of time up, you should be using this!’
If your club isn’t taking advantage of Track and Trace yet, it's easy to get started.
