The #ClubsinCrisis campaign is asking clubs badly affected by Covid-19 to share their story on social media - with a £5,000 incentive.
Raising awareness around the power of sport to change lives, the Made by Sport charity also campaigns for more funding.
They rightly argue that sport is so much more than just exercise. Clubs are at the heart of supporting communities in areas such as youth employment, crime reduction, mental health and providing life skills.
The ongoing mission of Made by Sport is to push for financial assistance from central Government for sports organisations and clubs.
How can clubs enter?
The aim is to show on a national level how severely coronavirus has hit grassroots sports clubs.
Your club can enter the Clubs in Crisis competition to win £5,000 via their website and then upload a video to social media using #ClubsinCrisis.
The video entry should be 1-2 mins and demonstrate:
- What your club does
- How it helps with their key criteria (employability etc)
- How your club has been affected
- What £5,000 would help achieve
Clubs can also encourage members to sign the #saveourclubs petition that calls for a Sports Recovery Fund.
Good luck with competition entries but whether you win or not, it’s about sharing the positive impact that sports clubs have and the widespread need for financial support to keep them open.
