Smarter Payment Notifications and a Better Experience for Members

Managing payments is one of the most important administrative responsibilities for any sports club. From memberships and subscriptions to instalment plans and assigned products, keeping payments running smoothly helps clubs maintain healthy cash flow while delivering a positive experience for members.

That's why we've introduced a range of payment enhancements designed to improve communication, reduce missed payments and make payment management easier for both administrators and members.

Failed payments can often go unnoticed, creating additional work for administrators and delays in collecting funds.

Members will now automatically receive a notification if a subscription or instalment payment fails, allowing them to quickly update their payment method and complete the payment.

By keeping members informed immediately, clubs can reduce the number of missed payments and spend less time manually chasing outstanding balances.

It's also important for clubs to understand how payment retries work.

Stripe will automatically attempt to collect failed payments multiple times, while GoCardless users can configure retry schedules directly within their GoCardless dashboard.

We've introduced electronic payment receipts for successful subscription and instalment payments.

Members now receive immediate confirmation when a payment is processed, giving them greater confidence and a clear record of their transactions.

This improves transparency and helps reduce queries about payment status.

More Successful Product Assignments

Assigning products is a great way to ensure members purchase the items they need, but assignment notifications can sometimes be overlooked.

To help improve completion rates, members who have been assigned a product but have not purchased it within 72 hours will now receive an automatic reminder.

This additional touchpoint encourages action without creating extra work for club administrators and helps ensure important purchases aren't missed.

Faster Payments Through the Club App

We've also improved the payment journey by adding deep linking to payment request emails.

When members open a payment request email on their mobile device, they can be taken directly to the relevant payment screen within the Club App, making it quicker and easier to complete outstanding payments.

By reducing the number of steps required to make a payment, clubs can improve completion rates while providing a smoother experience for members.

Additional Improvements for Administrators

We've introduced several enhancements designed to help administrators avoid common payment issues.

Administrators will now receive clearer notifications when a direct debit mandate restricts subscription price changes, helping them understand why an update cannot be completed and what action is required.

We've also added alerts for Stripe Connect Express accounts that require additional information. Prompt action helps ensure payment processing remains active and prevents potential account restrictions.

These updates are part of our ongoing commitment to making payments simpler, more transparent and more effective for clubs and their members.

From automated reminders and payment receipts to proactive account notifications and streamlined payment journeys, we're continually investing in features that help clubs spend less time managing payments and more time focusing on their members.
