Market Harborough Youth Netball Club has now been using Pitchero for a full season, helping its volunteers manage more than 200 members across age groups from Year 1 through to Under 18s.
The club is run entirely by volunteers, including around 20 coaches, so finding ways to reduce admin and keep everything organised has been a major benefit.
Chair Emma Wear explained that before Pitchero, the club relied on a mixture of WhatsApp, direct debits and different apps across different age groups.
“The feedback so far from our volunteer coaches is that Pitchero is a lifesaver.”
Today, the club uses Pitchero for training registers, player and parent information, match availability, team selection and payments. Keeping everything in one place has made it easier for volunteers to access the same information and for parents to have a consistent experience as their children progress through the club.
The availability tools have been particularly useful for matchday planning. Coaches can see who is available, prompt parents who have not responded and publish teams once selections have been made.
Payments are also much easier to manage. Membership fees and products can be set up at the start of the season, while the club treasurer can quickly see failed or outstanding payments.
Emma also highlighted how having multiple administrators helps spread the workload. Coaches can take registers from their phones, committee members can update the website and different volunteers can respond to messages without everything relying on one person.
“Anything we can do to reduce the burden of trying to manage multiple applications and direct debits, and have this all in one space, is absolute value for us.”
After a year with Pitchero, Market Harborough Youth Netball Club plans to continue using the platform and would happily recommend it to other grassroots clubs.
“It’s been a really positive experience. Without a doubt, we’d recommend it to other clubs.”
