We’ve got even more Pitchero updates to share this week, with improvements designed to make team management clearer, help clubs create better match content and reduce some of the day-to-day admin involved in running a club.
This week, Event-based Player Availability is live for all clubs, admins have a new availability summary within Team Selection, and clubs can now add feature images to Match Previews.
We’ve also put together a new guide showing how club volunteers can use AI to plan a month of social media content in one go.
Here’s what’s new.
Event-based Player Availability is now live
Following our BETA testing period, Event-based Player Availability is now available to all Pitchero clubs.
The update gives players and parents more flexibility when there are multiple events taking place on the same day.
Instead of having to give one availability response for the entire day, players can choose to either set their availability for the whole day or respond to individual fixtures, training sessions and other events.
For example, a player could be available for a morning training session but unavailable for a fixture later that afternoon.
Admins also benefit from a cleaner Availability screen, giving coaches and team managers a clearer picture of who is available for each event.
A big thank you to all the clubs that took part in the BETA and shared feedback with us ahead of the wider launch.
Spot availability issues during Team Selection
We’ve also added an availability summary directly into the Team Selection screen in the Admin Dashboard.
This means coaches and team managers can quickly see potential availability problems while selecting their squad, without needing to move between different areas of Pitchero.
Whether a player is unavailable or responses are still outstanding, the new summary gives admins useful information at the point they need it.
It’s another small improvement designed to make squad planning clearer and help reduce last-minute surprises ahead of fixtures.
Add feature images to Match Previews
You can now add a feature image to your Match Previews, giving upcoming fixtures more visual impact on your club website.
A team photo, action shot, fixture graphic or other relevant club image can help bring your preview to life and make your match content stand out.
It also gives clubs another opportunity to create a more professional and engaging experience for supporters visiting the website ahead of matchday.
Take a look at your upcoming fixtures and make sure your Match Previews are using strong, relevant imagery.
Use AI to reduce your social media admin
Social media can quickly become another regular job for club volunteers, especially when you’re trying to post consistently throughout the month.
Our latest guide looks at how tools such as ChatGPT can help you plan a full month of social media content in one go.
By providing information about your fixtures, results, sponsors, fundraising, recruitment and club events, AI can help create a content plan and draft posts for you to review.
You can then prepare and schedule your content in batches rather than starting from scratch every few days.
AI doesn’t need to replace your club’s voice — it can simply help get the first draft done and reduce the amount of time spent planning.
More improvements for your club
These latest changes are part of our ongoing work to improve Pitchero around the everyday needs of clubs and volunteers.
From clearer availability and team selection to better match content and practical ways to reduce admin, we’re continually developing the platform to give clubs better tools.
Take a look at the latest features and make sure your club is getting the most from everything now available.
