Major Club Communication Enhancements: Keep your club connected, informed, and engaged

If there’s one thing every grassroots club relies on, it’s strong communication. Fixtures change, training plans evolve, volunteers are needed, and members expect quick answers.

When your messages are clear and consistent, people feel involved, and your club feels organised.

That’s why club communication is a core feature of Pitchero. It’s not just about sending updates; it’s about keeping everyone connected to what’s happening and what they need to do next.

What’s new in Pitchero: richer, more flexible Club Communications

Pitchero’s latest update introduces Major Club Communication Enhancements, created in direct response to club feedback. In fact, improving Club Communications was the number one request in 2025, with clubs wanting an easier way to create messages that look professional, are simple to read, and encourage action.

Pitchero has now embedded a rich text editor directly into the Club Communication area of the club admin dashboard, giving you greater control over how your messages appear when members read them in their account, on the app, or in email.

With the new editor, you can now:

  • Format text with bold, italic, underline, and strike-through
  • Increase and decrease font sizes
  • Upload and insert multiple images
  • Add hyperlinks
  • Build bullet points and numbered lists
  • Add lines to separate content

These tools may seem small, but together they make a significant difference, especially for busy volunteers who need to communicate quickly, without their messages becoming cluttered or confusing.

Why it matters: better messages create better engagement

Most club updates are scanned, not read word-for-word. A clean layout helps members immediately pick out the essentials: the time, the location, and the action required. Using headings, bullet points, and separators makes your messages easier to understand at a glance, and reduces the follow-up questions that fill inboxes and WhatsApp groups.

Adding images also boosts attention. A matchday poster, event flyer, sponsor graphic, or team photo can make your communication feel more “club-like” and less like an admin chore. And with clickable links, you can guide people straight to what matters: a payment page, a form, a ticket link, or more information on your website.

Practical ways clubs can use communications to stay engaged

Here are a few proven ideas clubs can use right away:

Matchday and training updates
Send a clear checklist: arrival time, venue details, kit colours, and any changes. Add a link to directions and keep it skimmable with bullet points.

Membership and payment reminders
Explain what membership covers, give a simple deadline, and include one clear link to pay or renew.

Volunteer recruitment
List the roles you need, the time commitment, and who to contact. Make it feel achievable and welcoming.

Fundraising and events
Promote raffles, quiz nights, presentation evenings, or club days with an image flyer and a direct sign-up or ticket link.

Sponsor shoutouts
Show sponsors you value them by sharing their logo, a short thank-you, and a link to their business.

Weekly round-ups and club culture
Share weekend highlights, player achievements, and upcoming dates. It keeps supporters involved and helps build pride around the club.

With these enhancements, your communications can be clearer, more engaging, and far more effective — helping your club stay connected all season long.
